[Poem] Chronicle
An exuberant lass,
prancing around the park,
ponytails swinging about.
Her joy and effervescence,
matched only by the breeze
and the swaying trees.
Unaware, unmindful
of sorrows, pains.
Untouched, unaffected
by tomorrows, uncertain.
Watching her motions,
a man,
fraught with wrinkles of time.
The sorrow, the pain
so evident in his eyes,
waiting for his time,
for a tomorrow, certain.
Life and its paradoxes,
stare me on my face,
as I chronicle a view
from the window in my Study.
