[Translation] Innocent Dream
As the joyous kite soars high,
the downward current
arrests it in swaying branches.
My chides,
strings of a torn kite
and a recoiled tail,
hurriedly concealed in your schoolbag,
you sleep.
With a smile so serene,
glowing on your face,
what are you dreaming about?
A mother who doesn’t scold
Or birds flying over open fields?
A poem in Tamil by Ilampira
