[English Ghazal] Fate
In my palms, I hold your fate
Unknown to you, I mould your fate
Dexterously, I quoted a price
Unaware, you sold your fate
The moneybags jingled for a while
In their presence, palled your fate
Once when I bared my soul
I faltered and galled your fate
As disheartened I gave up my efforts
To try once more, cajoled your fate
“Mahfuuz”, from mistakes you haven’t learnt
To be left stranded in the cold, your fate
